Physical Education

(One semester at each grade level)

Grades are based on skill, ability, written tests, and weekly participation where emphasis is placed on EFFORT - not athletic ability.  Behavior is based on cooperation, attitude, ability to get along with others, and sportsmanship.
This is a required program for all students.  Each student gets one semester of Physical Education at each grade level.
As long as a student dresses every day, tries to do every activity presented, and is cooperative, he/she will earn a passing grade.
For each unexcused non-dress (limit 4), the non-dress may be made up before or after school by dressing and running/walking 10 laps. If a student fails to make up the non-dress, it results in a zero for that day and possible failure for the nine weeks.
To obtain Straight A's, High Honors, or Honors, a student must have a grade of C or higher in PE and have a passing grade in behavior.
Extra credit is offered each nine weeks to help improve their grade if the choose to do so.
